Special and kit tests

Besides routine blood, urine, and stool work, the laboratory’s facilities sheet names a group of special tests and a group of special kit tests.

Listed on the facilities sheet

• HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin)
• IgE
• RA
• CRP (C-reactive protein)
• ASO
• Vitamin D
• HAV (hepatitis A)
• HEV (hepatitis E)
• Dengue
• Scrub typhus
• Trop I (troponin I)
• Trop T (troponin T)

HbA1c reflects longer-term blood sugar. IgE, RA, CRP, ASO, and Vitamin D are printed together as special tests. The special kit tests on the same sheet are HAV, HEV, dengue, scrub typhus, Trop I, and Trop T.

The bottom of the facilities sheet names Thyrocare, Dr Lal PathLabs, and SERUM Analysis Centre as outsourcing laboratory partners. That means some tests may be sent out rather than completed at the laboratory. Ask which arrangement applies to the test you need, and ask when the report is expected.

Troponin tests are time-sensitive in clinical care. If you have urgent symptoms, contact a doctor or emergency service. A laboratory website is not an emergency service.
